How hard/easy is to join the BBB

My supplier of ps3s (rather you believe me or not, lets just IGNORE THAT FOR NOW) told me he was a BBB member but I just did some research and found he has a BBB online profile which makes me feel a little safer...

My question is, how difficult is it to join the BBB... I feel comfy cuz of that and I paid through PayPal but would like a tad more re-assurance.

The BBB is a **** joke. Do a search on Google or whatever, im sure you'll come up with quite a few interesting stories.
