How good is this?

Got my hands on some of this wire. The black is 10 gauge and the red is 8 gauge. Seems to be really stout cable. I think it is 100% copper cause I can scratch it and cut it and not see anything other than the copper color. It is different though, cause it is more a bunch of thick strands rather than a lot more smaller strands. How would this hold up as speaker wire? It has a really thick shielding also. Thinking of selling most of it that I don't need. Anyone know what this goes for by the foot about or what an acceptable price would be? I can make some pretty good deals with it. The brand is Lawson if it makes any difference

not car audio cable.. looks like automotive cable like what you would run to a starter or something.. very hard to work with.. and if thats pure copper in that strand configuration, thats expensive cable right there.. just not for car audio.. looks to be building wire or something a electrician would use also

Yeah not car audio wire. Looks like starter wire or factory alternator wiring. You can use it but it's not gonna be flexible

It definitely isn't meant for car use, I was just wondering if it would work. Didn't see any reason why it wouldn't. It is actually pretty flexible considering how thick it is. Definitely not so unflexible that it can't be used because of it. I was able to get 500 ft of the 8 gauge and 700 ft of the 10 gauge. Plan on using some and selling the rest. Copper is copper, doesnt matter what it's made for as long as its pure copper, it will conduct electricity...

put all of it in a huge metal washtub soak it in diesel then pour a LITTLE bit of gasoline on it and light it. flip it occasionally and pack it down. Watch for the EPA

Ya you'd probably be best off stripping it and selling it copper goes for a lot these days... Sell the 4/0 though...

I'll take home the smaller reel of it home tonight and take some pics and post them up. Is $1.50 a foot plus flat rate box shipping a good price for it? I can stuff the **** out of the box with it to so I can fit quite a bit in there. I haven't found anyone else that has sold 4/0 welding so I don't know a decent starting price. Definitely looking to hook people up on here but also using this to fund some extras for my system. Need a new amp for my subs!

I look for stuff like this that people don't need anymore and are going to throw away. They were laughing at me when I said I would take it and use it for car stereo cause they don't know any better. Told me I could take it as long as I carried it. Which fucking ***** btw in 125 degree heat. Some seriously heavy stuff.
