Thiel is very nice... B&W, Dali & Thiel are easily my top 3 favorite speaker manufactures.

I have never heard this particular model. But, they have alway had a reputation of building quality equipment.

I'd listen to them before buying. Thiel has always made nice products. I would find out what their power requirements are, Thiels are not easy to drive.

If you're looking at paying that much for a used speaker I'd also take a close look at the Salk HT3 if you can find used. I'd also look at the SP Tech "Continuum" series. These are typically handmade for the customer and offer an amazing value/performance ratio, more so than any "mass" manufacturer I can think of.
