how good are MTX 8000's

anyone heard these??? Im thinkin of buying two of them, how do they sound, should i get them or spen $30 more and get 2 type r's?? o and they will be 2 12's powered by a directed 1100 D

i guess i will be the first to warn you that anything involving a type R on this thread will be favored over god. go ahead and get the type R, they are extreamly better than the 8000 series and you will be happy. THe MTX 8500 series is a totally different matter though. Look into those, you wont be dissappointed.

I was put off by the build-quality of the Type S, but when I took a look at the R, it seemed pretty beefy. I like the corrugated surround.

well i dont really have one, but my main priority is to get my truck fixed, i really dont wanna pay over $250 for 2 12's, and it has to be 2 12's because i already have the box

ahh ok, if its sealed i wouldnt go wit the r's, i heard a pair in a sealed box and i wasnt impressed, a buddy of mine still has a pair of 10" 8000 sealed and they sound really nice for what their worth....

if they are brand new then no, that is a decent price, if used then it might be a lil 2 high, brand new on ebay is goin about 100,

my cuz has 2 12" jl w3v2 in his gt and it sounds nice in a sealed box...

there great powerful woofers. I Dropped them into a box like 2 days ago jus to have a listen to tell a friend how they sounded and the low end on these things are insane! I honestly didnt even need to turn up my head unit that much to get them moving alot of air.
