How far to put my box from the hatch?

Well I guess that im going to have sub back port back in my durango. I dont want the box above the window line. So this is pretty much my only choice unless i do it forward. From the reasearch I have done it seems unlikley that this would be better. I plan on securing my box with some industrial strength velcro. So my ? is how far off of my back hatch should I have my box? thanks for any help

I think you shoulld face the sub up and put the box as close to the back seat as possible.

Mine is mounted about 12 inches from the back hatch in my X-Terra. Thats about where I found it to sound the best, in the X-Terra anyway.

OK one more ? what if I was to put it right against my back seat to leave some room for storage. That would leave like 3 or 4 feet would I really be able to tell then?

Yeah well my goal with my setup is just a loud *** daily set up. Not going to be burping or anything like that. So the distance bewteen the subs and the hatch isnt going to match that much of a difference to the ear. If its nothing drastic im prob just going to put them up against my back seat. The room for storage would be nice

imo industrial strength velcro is not a good way to go in an suv ...

Wut year durango? The best way to is to just experiment with what sounds best/loudest.

its a 2000 r/t it has the 3rd row but its going to be permantly down with the box sitting on top of it

i usually leave the box about the ports width away from the back of the car
