How far does deadening go?

I'm looking into deadening some of my car. I'm not going crazy and doing every single surface with 50 layers, sludge, and closed cell foam, I'm just shooting for a basic deadener installation on all 4 doors and the trunk.

I'm going with Damplifier most likely, I'm just not sure how much I need. I'm guessing I probably need the 80 ft^2 pack to do a decent job. I'll be getting a couple of speaker pads too for my component woofers.

Opinions wanted. How much do I need, what are some techniques for doing this, etc...I have a very good idea of how this is going to go down, I'm just diving into something I've never done before so I always like to have a nice discussion about it with people who know what they are talking about pertaining to my specific installation, even though I've researched quite a bit. so yeah...

I drive a 1998 Oldsmobile Intrigue. If you don't know what that is it's an Alero in sedan form. 4 doors and a monstrous trunk.

Anthony sed I will need the 80 ft^2 pack to do the trunk and 4 doors of my lincoln LS that is with onely one layer on the trunk flore and sides and 2 on the lide I hope this will help you out and you can call Anthony at 623.533.8193 or 1.800.679.8511 he is a nice guy and will help you out with what you need

Yeah, 80ft^2 is a lot and will do all 4 doors and most of the trunk for plenty of cars.

The only thing I can tell you is to use deadener in key places. I do the "Tap Test" or so I call it. Tap in different places and listen to the sound it makes to determine if you need to add deadener. Broad flat surfaces of metal usually resonate pretty bad and need more attention than other places of convoluted metal which has more structure. Just keep tapping till it's as dead as you want.

one on the left is a old mtx thunder 6000 and the one on the right is my OZ audio 10.2 ME that I fried it took 1000 watts in a 2cf ported box at 35Hz for a long time but the rms was onely 600 and the max box sise was 1.25

Looks like I'll be getting the 80 ft^2 pack, a couple of speaker pads, and a small amount of closed cell foam which I will just be using in very select areas where there is literally plastic panels or wires hitting against stuff making noise.

I have 2 db500's as well but I dont have a cam when I get pix I will change my ava and spoonraker call Anthony he can help you out
