Deck: Alpine CDA-9815 $380

Rear Speakers: TR650-CXi $100

Front Speakers: VR-650-CSi $180

4CH Amp: JL 300/4 $365

Subs: 2 x JL 12W3 $350

Sub Amp: JL 500/1 $400

-----------------------------------------------------------------

Total: $1775

Does this look like a good setup?

Also, can someone please explain to me how I would wire this system, and what wiring kits, ect. that I would need to buy?

Thanks,

TooFast

i dunno about the top, but the bottom three...

you're gonna get a lot of people discouraging you to get those. I would too.

JL audio stuff is good, just that you're paying so much more for the name rather than the performance.

But if you already have it in your possesion, then, well, good luck connecting all of them.

It owuld be good if you can break down the connections to specifics, like power would be a single thread, and maybe signal connections to another. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

Looks like a fine setup. If you have that kind of money, like the products, go for it. There's cheaper products that are comparable, however. It's up to you.

you can get about a pair of 12" brahma for that price here in Korea. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif

just subs, no amps, no wires, just subs. I REALLY need to get me some dealership deals here. We deserve better than made in china (MIK, Xpower) subs.

As others have already sed, it's ok. Ur justing getting ***** on price...u could have a system that would could be louder and sound better for that amount of money! MUCH better, especially on the subs and amps!!!! what are u looking for, SPL or SQ? peace

NG

I'm going all for SQ. I mean sure I would like it to be loud if I want it to, but I'm not going to try to get 150dB or anything, I just want to have a **** good sounding system. Other people that I have talked to recommend that I get the XR CS speakers for the front, and just leave out the rear speakers, and also just get 1 12w6v2 instead of the 2 lower end 12w3v2s. Also, you are saying that I can get better for that amount. Please give me some ideas on what brands and models are better for around the same price.

Thanks,

TooFast

i would agree with them. for 1700, you can get much better than that. along with other accessaries you will need, you probably look at 1900~2000. my suggestion? try some cheaper amps......us acoustics amps would be a good idea to look at. try mine.

clarion dxz935 + 6 cd changer

infinity kappa perfect 5.1 >>>>>front (85Wx2)

infinity kappa 5x7/6x8 >>>>>>>rear (50wx2)

q-logic kick panels

us acoustics 4085 >>>>> for front and sub

us acoustics 2050 >>>>> for rear

alpine type-r 1221D in a q-logic sub box (240W)

stinger accessary (wire, cable......)

i can get all of this around 1500~1600. how's that?

I'm just a newbie to car stereo, but I had about the same budget as you, and was even looking at 2 JL 12w3's...but decided better of it...It took me almost 2 weeks to come to a decision, after a lot of research, but I THINK I will be quite happy with what I have chosen.

1 12" Adire Brahma

Planet Audio TT850.1d (New line, not on their website currently?)

Alpine CDA-9813

That's all I've gotten right now, and that adds up to approx. $900~$1000.

That leaves roughly $600~$700 for a nice set of component speakers and small amp, plus all the wiring and what not that is needed for installation.

I will be building my own box.

Not sure how this set up that I am going to be running will be compared to what you had originally planned on, but I think it will do me quite well? Others would be better at comparing the 2 set ups?

Another suggestion for you on subs is RE, which I think someone had mentioned, I think they are having a sale of some sort on their HC series...which I am assuming will compare with the JLw3 series...just alot cheaper, especially on sale.

The only JL above the HC is the W7...

The HC is an amazing driver, has great SQ, but can still get VERY loud in the right enclosure/power. They are around $200 for a 12...

That's what I figured, just didn't want to try to compare it...I've only heard the W7, never heard the HC, ever...so wasn't sure, just from what I've heard.

Of course, I'm going blind on my own system as I've never heard a Brahma in person, but they've gotten pretty good reviews, so I figured I can't go wrong.

You will not be disappointed with the Brahma.

Are you making the box yourself? The power handling on the Brahma varies due to the size of the box...did you see the power handling chart on their site?

Contact a guy on the forum named 'jlaine'(Josh). He's an authorized Adire dealer, and will give you free shipping on all Adire products...
