How does this hz stuff work, cant find info...

I have a single 12" L7 and i am planning to upgrade my box to either 2.5cf or 3.0cf. But i have no idea how many hz to go with since i dont really know how that works. i have been recommended to go with 32hz and 35hz. Very few tell me to go with 38hz and the only difference i see is the number since i dont know what that really is:... If someone wants to explain i will really appriciate it or you can direct me to where i can start reading about this hz stuff. This box will go in a SUV

difference between 32hz and 38hz is,you'll feel 32hz more than you'll hear it.someone correct me if i'm wrong

a lower tune on the box will result in a flatter freq. response (not including cabin gain ect) the higher tune will give a a freq response with a peak in it, depending on where its tuned at. if its daily or spl you may like it or not. its all what kind of sound your after.

Its a daily driven car i would like to get SQ but then again SPL i know i cant get both of both worlds specially considering that i have a L7, SQ will be quite hard to get but i am pretty sure you guys get my point. THNX

i say just try 35 and see how you like it. besides, your not going to hear the difference between a few hertz in tuning.

Ok im going to go with 3cu with 35hz. Im gonna have a local audio shop building the box. That's all the info they need correct? Is there any other specific way that the box should be built other thatn that info I am going to mention..

you would be surpised on few numbers in tuning...

you also need to tell them dimensions or just have them measure your trunk or cargo area.

Depending on the vehicle type you should be mentioning which way you would like the port(s) and sub(s) to fire. This can and usually does have a significant impact on loudness.

Im planning on placing the sub box on the right side having the sub point the back window and the port on the left side of the box. Does it matter if thye sub is about 8" from the trunk door?? The veichle is a 2001 Chevy blazer 4dr (SUV)
