How does this build look?

Amp - Rockford Fosgate 1000 Watt Mono B/D

Sub - x2 Alpine SWR-1243D 12" Type-R

(i'd provide links but I don't think new users can, I'm getting an error)

This would be going into a 2004 Mazda 6. Price isn't too important but I'd rather not spend more than 700. I was told this amp wouldn't provide enough power unless I wire it in parallel twice...which confuses me. If this amp isn't a good match can someone point me in the right direction?

If Im interpreting the model number correctly, your subs are dual voice coil 4ohm. If you wire them in parallel twice, the total load will be 1 ohm. Check the specs to see if its stable at a 1 ohm (mono) load.

There are many better subs out there than Type R's for that price. Remember: the enclosure is the most important thing in a sub stage.

There are many better subs out there than Type R's for that price. Remember: the enclosure is the most important thing in a sub stage.

I'm not dead set on the Type R's or anything, I've just heard good things...I'd love some other recommendations though.

You'd be getting about 1200. Solid amps. Why don't you go all Audioque and get their SDC2.5's. They'll be loud. If you want to email me I'll let you know how much room you have, no charge.
