If an amp says 1000 watts at 1 ohm at .3 THD. Does that mean that at full power your only getting .3 distortion or does it go up at you turn your gains up or how exactly does it all work?
If you're making full power you don't continue to turn the gain up. It's very hard to actually hear amplifier distortion from bass with music playing, especially with that much power being put to good use.
If your gain is adjusted correctly to keep the amp from clipping or at least keep clipping to a minimum -- THD really isn't an issue.
If you look at a THD plot what you USUALLY see is something relatively high at low power (like the 0.3% you reference) then it will fall a little in the mid range maybe down to 0.2 or 0.1 then it will climb back up as the amp reaches full power. If you go beyond full undistorted (
