How does a 15" HDC3 compare.......

I have a hdc3 15" on a aq1200. My box is 3.75cf @34.5hz. would I notice a difference between a IA Death penalty in loudness from the sub, how about a FI BL? Also does anyone know how much a IA 15" Dual 2 ohm death penalty is? there site said retail like 600 somethin is that the actual price? thanks

with my old sx15 i did 144db with tl in a 4cf big box and 34-36hz but i like the sound from DD more, i have never heard a aq but i think they sound more like DD than the sx..

HDC3 and the DP are a level above the BL and SX, IMO.

For all around sound you will notice a differance between the two... The IA will sound better,,, The HDC3 seems to be a lil louder and can handle the power way better then the IA... So if going for SQ go will the IA if you want loud keep the HDC3

yah i believe the IA, DD, and the AQ are pretty close to the same sub on the sound level and power levels. IMO i'd look at putting more power to the sub you currently have as opposed to getting another sub, Then if your not happy, switch subs.

how are the lows tuned that low? you could also build a new box tuned higher around 38-40 to gain some loudness

I had a single HD315 in a 39Hz 4ft^3 (net) box with about 2K~ rms and it is crazy loud IMO...

MUCH louder than my buddies 2) JL 1000/1 2) 15" Eclipse Titanium setup that cost literaly like 4X what i paid, he is pissed ; )

ONE of his 1000/1 amps cost more than my AQ2200D and HDC315 combined. Gotta love AQ
