For anyone who has a Sundown 3000D, Im trying to get a glimpse on what it takes to power one. So if anyone has one, can you post what your running to supply it? Im looking to buy one and need to know what I might need for one and maybe an addtional 200rms for the mids.

I have two with six Powermaster D1000 16v batteries, EA 225-amp alternator, and two 100-amp Harrison Labs Flux Caps to step up voltage to my 16v bank //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

I have mine and will be running it off an exide orbital under the hood and either 2 d3100s or 2 deka 9a31s
D*mn two D3100's? I was hoping I would be able to get buy with maybe a Redtop, HC1400, and HC2400. Plan on running about 3300RMS with a 100a alot. But anyway good to see another cat from the 'ville...

yea i hope to have my stuff done by casper so my setup will be there.. i have heard that you can get by with just 1 d3100 but I want to go ahead and run two just to make sure my volts stay up.. my alt is factory 150

In my Explorer I have a 200a alternator, Optima G31 YellowTop under the hood, and two more G31s in the back with all Knu-Fleks 1/0awg wire powering an saz-3000d @ 0.5ohm no sweat. For daily wired @ 1ohm I don't run any batteries in the back. With just the alt and batt under the hood my voltage holds up fine on music. I also have an sax-100.2 in there for my door speakers.

I ran three saz-3000s in my Yukon @ 1ohm each on three Fi Btls with the stock alt and six Optima G31 YellowTops no sweat. Voltage only fell as low as 12.2v even after five back-to-back 149.9 BassRace practice runs.

i thought you ran a 1500 on the 15" nightshade?

It is recommend to have an HO alternator and one good size rear battery to power the saz-3000d. If you choose to run the stock alternator then I recommend two good size rear batts.

My truck is a rolling test bench. I've ran all types of different setups in here. My current competition setup is the single saz-1500d powering the single NightShade 15". I've also tested this setup out with the saz-3000d in it (as well as every other Sundown SAZ series amplifier). For a couple months at the end of last season I ran a pair of DC Audio lvl4 15s @ 1ohm off a saz-3000d as a daily BassRace setup.

of course, dont really wanna cook the 3000D;). I was thinking my current set up Optima RT (front), Kinetik 2400 (Back), and another HC1400 ( I can get the kinetik for a steal).

My friend had his 3000d, on 4 g34 Yellows, on a stock 60 amp alt. And also some gay 1000cca battery on the hood.

It dropped to 12 volts for steady basslines for 30 secs, it never dropped below 11.5 even after a whole song or two.

If your going to run a stock alt, ~100amp, you need 2 batteries.

Now if you step up and get a HO, ~200amp, you could possibly get by with 1 battery in the back.
