I have 2 infinity kappa perfect 10.1s and when I turn them up they get pretty loud but when i get to that certain volume im nervous to turn them up anymore. So my question is how do u know when ur subs r as loud as they will go?

I know it might be a stupid question but i want to kno when yaull kno ur subs r as loud as they will go.

If it starts bottoming out or distorting, if its bottoming out you will know when it happens, its when the bottom of the VC on the sub over excurts and smacks the bottom of the T-yoke on the motor.

You will know when distortion hits too, itll sound real bad and kind of like wet farts.

When the cone shoots off the speaker and bounces around in your car, that might be too loud then, turn it down.

you need to set your gains with a multimeter to know what volume you can go to on your head unit so your safe, you can play it by ear if you know what your doing(still wont be exact) but you need to buy a multimeter and set them correctly(and your speakers too if they are aftermarket and amped)

just throwing this out there... "some speakers are over-rated and can't handle every bit of what its specified to handle in a practical in-car application... i'd recomend giving it a little extra room and not maxing the power if you don't have to... plus distortion can be unpredictable and the sources are limitless so if you have your speakers doing everything they can... you run a good risk of blowing them" i don't mean dramatically but just .2 volts under will improve the life of your speakers and probably give you a little better sq, and sometimes that makes it louder too

Didn't like the way they sounded.....heard one in a box with a 500/1 on it at my local shop. Laughed and told them I wasn't paying out that much for money for that sub.

Got a better deal elsewhere
