Ok, you should get a new amp kit. You can get them relatively cheap online. Go to the classifieds on here and see whats available. Youll find what you need. But the 4 ga to 8 ga I wouldnt do. Keep it consistent when it comes to the audio realm. I would never mix n match wire sizes...but thats jus me.

well its 4 ga from the battery, then it goes to a little box, then from that box its 8 ga to the amp

You mean a distro block.. That is fine if you keep it under 1000 watts total RMS

i have a 1000 w amp i just dont want to have to rplace batterys or alternators
