How do i check the voice coil of a subwoofer?

I was wondering how do I use a DMM to check what type of voice coil my sub has. I have a DMM but I don't know how to do it could someone explain to me please how this is done?

put setting on OHMS ( the omega looking icon)

positive on postive, negative on negative.

you set the DMM on impeadence (to check the ohm) and or set it on continuity.

red wire goes to + black wire goes to - on the woofer

the Black wire lead goes to COM on the dmm. which is Negitive

the Red (positive) can go in the other two. mainly keep it in the mA/200A fused. one.

No...

And the number you get won't be a single digit number, likely...for example, you may get a DCR reading of 3.2 for a "nominal" 4 ohm VC. Because the actual impedance at any one time depends on the position of the cone.

Also, the number may jump around a bit not too much if it jumps around a lot from 0 to 5M? then there might be a problem somewhere.

Black to COM = Negative

Red to V ohm sign mA/200A max fused = Positive

Also, if it's a Dual Voice Coil sub make sure you are ohming the same coil....

Either you have it set to the wrong weight on the meter of there is some type of short going on. When you short the two leads of the meter it should read about that.

It ended up being 2.1-2.4 range lol. I had the pointy things in the wrong spot at first...
