How can I tell if a Treo subwoofer is an SSi or SSX

Can someone tell me what to look for to tell if a Treo subwoofer is a SSi or SSX series and is there also a way to tell if it's a 2 ohm or 4. Thanks

Get a digital multi meter and check the coils to see if they are 2 or 4ohm

And look for pictures of the motor (magnet stack and the rest of the goodies on the rear) for each sub

SSIs have a chrome magnet with no markings on them, SSXs have black rubber around the mag and actually say SSX on the bottom unless the sticker has been removed. The hole in the mag on SSis are about 2.5 in across since it has a 3" coil, SSXs hole is about 3.5" wide since it has a 4" coil. Use a dmm to test the ohms, but all SSxs are D2 unless special orders

one weighs about 20 pounds, the other about 60 pounds. hope you feel the weight difference. the ssx motor is about twice the size of the ssi

btw if you can't tell the difference easily between an ssx and an ssi, then you shouldn't be driving a car or operating machinery lol

Dual SSI 10.22 on a strapped pair of Kicker SX1250.1 's @ 1 ohm

It was hot on both of those days and with a black car the subs started out hot (heat saturation) so I purposely turned the gains down to stop the magical smoke.
