How Can I reduce Rattling?

Hey guys,

I want to buy some good sound deadener. Has anyone used HushMat before? My local shop swears by it but I don't know much about it. I have a '12 Accord SE with a JL 13w7

I'm looking to cover my whole trunk and seat. Do you guys recommend doing the roof and doors as well? I had my 05 altima done by a shop with some cheap deadener that I found on Ebay and that stuff came loose and STUNK like tar in the summer. Not to mention that my trunk latch came apart more than once because of Bass. I want to eliminate rattle. Cabin noise I can deal with, I just don't want to hear excessive rattling inside or outside.

Hushmat is good stuff but expensive. Its great to keep panels from smacking. Im sure there are much cheaper alternatives.

If you want to prevent rattles, use some audio technix b stock. If you want to prevent panels from slapping eachother, get some weatherstripping from lowes or pick up some spray foam.

With my Honda Accord, I put rubber washes behind my license plate and lowered the trunk latch (takes more force to shut the trunk, but requires more force to move it as well) and it went from loud as hell to pretty quiet. I have a '01, though, completely different from the '12 I'd imagine

You can also use some spray expanding foam carefully inside the braces to help
