How can I make this stop

Hey gang,

As many of you know i used to have a ported box that i sealed by screwing two pieces of wood in the ports...

Yesterday i realized that there was air coming out from around the pieces of wood:crap: , so what i did is took them off and peeled the carpet from the box and used wood glue to completaly seal the box and i let the glue dry over night....

This morning while testing my subs I realized that there is still air coming out but not from the ports anymore ,but from around the sub:crap:

How can i make it stop ???

Will this affect my sub ?? (damage it)

your sub isn't getting a good seal. use some gaskets around the sub. or weather stripping. and yes it's normal. and no it won't damage the sub.

Should I peel the carpet around the sub before putting the gasket ??

you can get the gaskets from anywhere. walmart, a hardware store. the carpet is prolly the reason why its leaking. you should cut the carpet back some, and then apply the gasket.

It's unfortunately a normal occurance....but something that you want to attempt to stop from happening. And, as was mentioned...the carpet is likely the reason why it's occuring.
