how can i lower impediance

I hqve 2 dc xl 18s and 4 gauge speaker wire going into these dist. Blocks with a whole strand of 14 gauge g oing to each pos and negative then jumping coils so im wored to one. I just tested my impediance rise and it is 4.5 how can i get this down. Run 8 gauge straight from the amp to the subs? And as short as possible?

i'm going to say, it sounds like your wired to 4 instead of 1... you wont see box rise until you actually throw a signal on your subs, and if your getting a 3 ohm rise from just wire, there is something SERIOUSLY wrong

lol yea its deffently wired to 4 and if ur looking for a real real low impdence its sounds like u have d1's u can wire down to .25ohm and u will probley see like .5 to 1 ohm on rise

How did you measure your impedence rise?

At what frequency? What clamp meter did you use?

A fluke clamp meter and a fluke multimeter. I have good meters and i am not wired wrong i just tested it with the ohms setting and its 1 ohm exactly....im just asking how i can lower my impediance im not dumb i know how to wire my subs guys i jusst want to know how to get my impediqnce rise down

impedence rise is needed to play music. you get rid of rise you get a burp box.

changing any parameter of the box can cause a change in the rise. good or bad nobody knows otherwise u would see everyone pushing 150db with the perfect box for their sub. but like any other competitor you are just going to have to experiment till you get it right. hell ive seen scores jump 2db just by opening the glove box and changing the loading on the subs
