how can i get shapes besides pulling fabric?

i'm about to start my first fiberglass project, but what i have planned i can't figure out how to get the exact shape. i thought of building a mold out of wood, but i don't know if ill get the exact shape i'm going for. what do most people do? i heard of using chicken wire?

when we did my friends and used what they refer to as "wiggle wood", being your flexible plywood, we actually just went to the craft store and they had smaller peices of it and we bought just what we needed

Yeah wiggle wood , flexible plywood, bendable plywood, plexy ply, bendy board, and other assorted names. Locally it runs in the neighborhood of $50 for a 4 x 4 sheet. if i make a mold from whatever, should i just hot glue the fabric in the spots where it contours in?

If I need an arch I usually use a piece of cardboard soaked in resin mixed with lots of mekp..

Worked out **** well so far..
