so ive seen the nail polish, silicone, etc but how big of a tear in the foam surround is too big to attempt to repair? about 5.5" on a 12" woofer? is it possible or is that just wayy too big and needs a recone? //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crap.gif.7f4dd41e3e9b23fbd170a1ee6f65cecc.gif

its a pretty massive rip i didnt relize it till now lol

well its an ol RE HC series... i really dont wanna spend they money to recone it i'd prolly just give it a go at fixing it and just try to sell it if it doesnt work out... cause i hear RE recones are pretty costly

That seems too big. Ditch it or recone it. If will have to add way to much sealant to it and that will add mass to your cone making it sound like @$$. Of course it wont sound any worse than having a huge rip in it. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

Ill buy it for 20 bucks //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

lol shipping would be wayyyy more than that to cali...

ya i think ill just see what i can do with it... but **** $100 for a recone... i could get another brand new type R for that //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/naughty.gif.94359f346c0f1259df8038d60b41863e.gif

$100 is a good price.......Its basically like getting a new sub.

If you think $100 is high, you dont want to know what RE will charge you.

Buy a new surround and just replace the surround, no need to recone unless the spider/cone/coilformer/coil are messed up //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif
