How about Kenwood?

Went price shopping today and found some pretty bomb deals on some kenwood equipment..

Anyone know anything about the new KENWOOD EXCELON stuff? I am looking at the 2008 shallow mount KENWOOD EXCELON 12" SHALLOW (350 RMS 1400watts peak) and the 2007 1000 watt Excelon amp (520 RMS).

If anyone knows anything or had any personal experience with kenwood equ let me know what you've thought about it! (I personally have never used any of kenwood's car auido stuff so i dont know what to expect.)

Also if anyone can compare this set up to the Rockford P3shallow 12" setup with the mini P3 amp please do! these are the systems i am going to choose between.

don't know about the shallows, but I have dealt with a pair of 10" excelon subs, and they were very lacking in the lows!!! very strong highs, but nothing at all in the bottom end

Do you think they were lacking lows because they are 10's? or because of the sub qual?

also would u say you were dissapointed over all with them?

I was very disappointed with them...and no I do not believe it was because they are 10's...my rsd's have outstanding lows (check sig)

rsd is phoenix gold....love them

the kenwood amps are great. i've owend several over the years, and they never let me down. however your not going to find much over 1,000 watts though. they're subs on the other hand, i had some of the original blue tornado cone subs back in the day. (12's) they did ok, got kinda low. but nothing much to brag about.
