does the hourly worker really care about the job they are doing or is the goal to get as many hours as they can to get overtime?

Does the salary worker really fit into the "decision" making category or does this depend on where a person is at w/in the organization...

i dont know, when i was working for our tile division the work had to be absolutly perfect, but we build 10-20 million dollar houses so everything has to be perfect, in contrast when i was working at blockbuster i couldn't give a **** less if i actually worked

then again it also helps when its your company.. thats kinda incentive

i'd say in most cases no, but it also depends on if their supervised, or held up against their work

I could care less about the actual job. I just do what is required in the allotted time frame and pick up my check every 2 weeks.

I would hate salary while on this contract. GM of the site is salary but puts in a 10 hour work day.

I put in a 4 hour work day and get paid for 8.

it really does depend on the job...

I prefer to charge my customers established amounts rather than work by the hour... only disadvantage is that it's possible to undercharge myself when a job is harder than it seems at first glance.
