hooking up leds

hi im just about finished my custom enclosure and i want to add some leds, my question is, can i hook these up directly to the power on the amp?? and if so will it ever turn off or will they always be on, or will the lights turn of and on with the car??

you gotta be careful which LED's you get if you hoook them straight to the amplifier power. The amplifier power also varies as it need more power at times. so that idea (to hook it to the amplifier) is out.

If yo want to hook them into the power from your car, you should run a distrobution block (one line to the amps and one to the LED's) and get a switch for the LED leg so you can switch them off. You also need to get a voltage transformer if you don't get 12v LED's. If you use anything lower than 12, the tiny little filiments will pop right away and then you'll have wasted .79-5.99.

All in all, its a lot more complicated of a process than you think. Better if you bought a premade kit with instructions than to try it by yourself.

thats what i was planning on doing, getting the tube of like 5 leds or something, will that work directly to the amp

depends on what you get, chances are you'll have to do that distro block idea to get power to them.

hey do it an easier way man i just hooked up a few also

i got a 30 amp really to run them and they come on when i turn my cd player on

it's really easy man

run a powerwire back with a fuse in it

use the remote off the back of the hu

ground it

and use the wire come out to for the power to turn everythang on and fuse everythang that you bring off of it
