im planning on installing a voltmeter in my car and im just wondering if im gonna do this right, i hve heard its easier than taking a piss( AS WHAT I'VE READ) ...

do you just + to + from battery to gauge then - to - from battery to gauge???

if you do it from battery power it will stay on all the time(which is how mine is since it doesnt draw too much) or you can wire the pos to ignition power so it goes off with everything else. also you dont need to ground and power it from the battery any 12v source will work(mine is wired through my headunit) and for the ground just ground it to fram or some good ground(my ground is also run through the head unit ground)

Depends on the voltmeter. Some might have a thrid wire for turing it on which would be spliced into the remote turn on wire. I would measure voltage that the amp is seeing (ie. run the wires to the pos and neg inputs on your amp). You could also use a relay if your meter only has two wires.
