Hooking up 2nd amp

Picked up a Hertz EP 4 amp and a set of HSK 165's today. I already have one amp running a set of CVT 65s. Powered by a Kenwood H/U with only one set of pre outs.

Is there any way I can split my current RCA's without buying another H/U?

you could always use a y cable. but with that said what are you plan on using for processing? could always get a small 3 way crossover .

Don't know much about crossovers so I haven't checked in to them to much.

What would be better. Just upgrade the H/U or get a crossover?

i myself would get another head unit. most decks now have a decent xover in them with a front rear sub out which is all a basic install would need. it's a matter of how much you want to spend.

Thats what I was planning on doing. Just trying to see if I could rig up something till I can get a new H/U. Sucks having siQQ speakers just sitting.

Is there any thing special I should look for in a H/U besides pre-out voltage and number of pre-outs. I noticed that some have built in crossovers and HPF and LPF. Would I need that since I have an amp?

first start off by figureing how much you want to spend on a hu then from there follow the KISS method.

the good thing about having the xover and etc in the head unit is less chance of noise getting caught up in the signal chain and also easier to adjust .
