The Camry
Hey, I Try.
Amp is sundown 150.4 and has a 24 db slope. speakers are Hertz ESK 165.5
What id do would be to play a 3(or 4, or 5khz) test tone on just my woofers and have tweeters off. Adjust the the LPF filter on the amp till the sound level doesnt change anymore(could i use a sound meter for this?). That would be where my mark would be. Just doing that to find the place on the LPF knob where the frequency im looking for is.
Then set the same spot but with a HPF for the tweeter channels.
HU at 90% volume. Turn gain up on woofer channels till its as loud as i would ever listen to it. Check sound level of that with sound meter on phone.
Then turn off woofer channels and turn up tweeters gain until its the same sound level as woofer at full volume.
Is it really safe to run tweeters connected to the amp with that much power and gains wherever they may be (which im sure will be pretty **** minimal) or should i run something like a bass blocker like a PAC BB-4PR (Blocks 0-1.2Khz at 4 ohms) or a true passive crossover like

The crossovers that came with the speakers is at 3 khz. The above mentioned one is a 5 khz and i cant find a passive one for 4 khz. I know passive isnt the way to go but im just nervous to blow my investment up.
