Welp I finally got my new car, a honda civic coupe 2003, and im finally getting to start working on my new build for it. Im mainly trying to focus on SQ with this build. Im currently trying to upgrade my equipment before i head off to college and become poor for the next 4 years. If you have any advice on what i should do or if i did something wrong just let me know, thanks for looking, now for the pictures and installation.

My pile of equipment......

Day 1: got my dash kit finally so i could take out the terrible stock radio, had to make a customized tab for the side of it to keep it in place and from moving, i think it'll stay in place well and it actually looks pretty good and sounds so much better with stock speakers already! Would've taken more pictures but didnt think about doing a build log till after i installed it.

Day 2: Started working on my big three upgrade today, got my knu battery terminal adapters today so i could finally start on the big three upgrade. Ran a new ground wire and engine block to the battery negative, im working on figuring out how to get to the alt and run a wire from the alt to battery will work on it more tomorrow.

So i tried to drop in the new battery for the old, but nothing can be that simple, it didnt fit, too tall for the battery bracket and too wide for the bottom tray, so tomorrow im going to be trying to create a customized battery bracket for it, ill see if i can get it done. I will also be installing door speakers tomorrow and maybe doing a couple of other little things here and there! Also ordered my boston acoustics gt-2300 to power my 10in dayton ho's on saturday, should be here next week! will be placing an order for some various things through PE tomorrow.

Also i have Moble Enclosurs working on a box for me, we'll see how it compares to my custom box design //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

Day 3:

Welp I finally got the battery in, it was rough though, i think i may make a better mount down the road but this will due for now....... hopefully...

So what materials did i have laying around that are strong and durable, old metal computer case

bent, had to bend again, but forgot a picture

IMG_20120619_140040.jpg

now heres where i made a mistake it was too short for the chassis bolt

IMG_20120619_182010.jpg

a little tweaking and nuts and bolts and i came out with this

IMG_20120619_191107.jpg

the battery doesnt move much at all and ive pulled on it and tugged it and everything, i do have a problem with the hood not wanting to close, i now have to force it close because the little hood holder thing gets in the way of the hood shutting, hopefully my hood doesnt fly up, it seems to latch fine once i push on it a little. not a fun day just to get a battery to fit, may work on the bottom tray tomorrow to try to get it wider so the battery can actually sit on the bottom of it. if you have any ideas on a battery bracket or tray let me know please!!!

audipipe and sq do not go hand in hand... other than that nice work.
haha i sold that to a friend, that was my budget amp for starting off a year ago, its long gone now, got my boston acoustics gt-2300 on the way for this build.

Day 3 continued:

Welp one door down one more to go, heres what i went through tonight, had to deal with massive amounts of bugs tonight and i was ticked off to the max and just wanted to get inside asap!!!

So on my way home i was hearing some rattles and trying to find them and opened up the fuse thing under the steering wheel and felt some loose wires so i investigated when i got home, i suspect an aftermarket alarm system was installed and very poorly i might add, i really want to rip it all out but i dont want to destroy any other electrical crap its attached to.

Well after that i opened up my door expecting to have to measure and make speaker baffles out of mdf board, i was wrong someone already had aftermarket speakers installed and speaker baffles, woot woot on the baffles, might still make some mdf board ones cuz the plastic ones like to cause rattles. After market speakers were blaupunkt... never heard of those

Woofer installed pretty nicely

The side of the speaker grill on the door was hitting the speaker, i think, i feared it atleast so i had to trim it up some

IMG_20120619_221622.jpg

And after a long night the door is back on, now to do it tomorrow once again.....

I'm 18. I asked the guy that owned the r8 if he would let me ride in it and he said I could drive it next week, heck yeah but I'm scared as heck!
