homemade mic???

Has anyone attempted to make a homemade spl mic? I was just curious to know. I think I might try it. I looked on the web and found some instructions. Sounds easy. Hope I posted in the right place.

ok i guess that would be alittle easier. how would u get your db reading?

use a XLR cable (those ones that plug into regular stage mics) and plug that into your SPL meter.

audiocontrol (can get these on ebay with a mic for like 300)

http://www.termlab.com (best bet)

http://www.splmeter.com (not a bad thing for how cheap they are, but they wont be as accurate as the TL and they only can go so high)

whatever you can get to measure them. they are like $200~1000

no- that one is the cheapie verson similar to the splmeter.com one

i dont need anything that is accurate to the thousandth of a db. I just need sumthin like the spl meter to give me an idea of what im hittin.
