homemade dynamat

i would never use foam... it holds moisture and will start to rott your car out... ever take a junkyard walk and see where somebody foamed a quarter or something... foams there, rocker and quarter panels arent thow
Closed cell foam does not attract nor hold moisture. And since closed cell is the only foam worth a **** to use in sound deadening, I dont really see a big rust problem.

yea ok. how can you say that i say what everybody else says. mean while everyone on the forums says the same **** in one topic as someone else does in another topic.

and since when is 16 a little boy. im not trying to impersonate a tough guy so stfu.

and i probably know more than you.

and where do you get off saying i never have good advice or "original ideas"

show some helpful advice and original ideas that you made.

which probably isnt original or good

who cares if it is original or good. as long as it informs the person of what they need to know who cares who says.

so if JimJ said the same thing i said. you would say o you are un original and that advice has been given before. i dont think you would so gtfo.

and it is a little late when me and the op settled this about 2 1/2 hours ago. so good timing.
You rank up there in the category with ryanroma.

and that means ??????

i dont know why he is saying **** when it was settled 2 1/2 hours ago.

people need to learn to mind there own business and stay out of an arguement if it does not involve them

then again this is ca.com

Deadening implies more than mass loading. Closed cell foam will absorb sound, making it an effective noise barrier... a very good one actually. I call that a sound deadener.
True.

I guess I said that because my usual use of closed cell foam is like what I'm doing with it in the BIB's...backing behind the driver to help clear up the midrange...works nicely for that //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

I heard that HD sells a self-adhesive roofing asphalt called "water and ice" that works real well as a sound deadener. However I tryed to find it there once but had no luck, so I just bought a blow torch and stuff to make a beer bong instead.

Wow. When you're brazing pipes together to make a beer bong, you know that's something serious //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

all these foam ideas and asphalt adheasives and scratch and sniff ideas arent as good as just speding the extra $ for some layers of dynamat. pretty simple. scratch that just go with the tin foil and tar idea that would work. LOL
