Im going to set-up a survelliance camera outside my house I was looking for some suggestions as to what camera's....with links to purchase and such......Im looking for a 1 or 2 cam setup nothing drastic and the camera has to be able to pickup at night(night vision) it just to keep vandals away.....I have a computer I can use to dedicate as the monitoring system...I think all I would need is a DVR chip...camera and software...if not let me know if anyone has done this before...

Man just get the cheap camera's that hook into your Tv, and if your Tv has several extra inputs you can switch between them just by pressing the video button. Ive had several different ones and the pwn. Just stay away from the color ones they **** and you will see all sorts of weird shit and shadow people in them when its dark outside. The audio is the best part, for having such cheap mic's you can turn up the volume and hear people's footsteps like a block away. Be carfull or you will get stuck constantly staring at them you dam tweeker...

Those wharehouse stores sell kits, 4 cameras and a tv, for like $600. Thats a start, plu slook online. I was looking into this too.

i am paranoid too, but i have a trusty alarm. i am more paranoid about people messing with my stuff though. and if those camaras are in sight, they are just something for a vandal to smash.

Ill try to find a link of the one im talking about. The cameras look like skinny flashlights and are easily concealed.
