home audio question

ok so i have a reg jvc shelf stereo that i have had for like five years. its the giga tube somthin. but anyways it has serprete termanals for subs. i had some cheap rca subs hooked up to its but just blew it and was wandering if i could geta cheap sony or lilghting audio to put in it???
