I have two of the hollywood excrusions, and they sound just as good as, or better that many of those top name subs.(infinty, frosgate, ect.) just make sure that what ever sub you buy, get the right box and a great amp. I am satified with my subs, but I am going to get two more. Alpine is also a great sub. get the new 2002 model, they have a loger life drive.

I have two 1280d hollywood subs, and two 1040d type r alpines. I have one 1500watt mono block by visonik, that puts out 1000 watts rms @ one ohm. this amp pushes them hard. all four. I have them all working at 1.5 ohms, thats about 875 watts rms.I plan on getting a custom box for my car so I can make the most of those subs, I am getting two more hollywooods so I can run my amp at one ohm. my system sounds nice but I hate the rattle of the trunk, and the whole car. I hard dynamat installed in the trunk, still rattles. alot. the inside of my car has four pair of speakers, and two (400watt two channels) alpine amps. Pioneer cd deck .
