Hole in surround

There is a small hole in the surround on one of my CVR's. Is there anything I can do to fix it? Or does the hole even effect anything?

if its small enough, just close it up with clear nail polish on the inside of the surround.

I'd put a small piece of duct tape on the back in addition to the silicone.

Not a bad idea at all, after all that is what it is for (sealing air leaks in ducts).
