im sorry, one reason i really hate hockey is because people watch it to see them fight. i think its the stupidest sport just for that reason. hockey is not about fighting - its about the guys playing hockey. if you wanna watch a fight, go watch the toughman thing where they beat the piss out of eachother - and thats the purpose of the sport. i hate how people go to hockey games to see them fight.
i just think thats really bad. sorry.

i agree also! its not my reason why i love the game! it was part of me ever since growing up. in the blood i guess. not the fight part. its DEFINITELY not the reason why i love the sport. although it is enjoyable to watch some tussles!. i think it's such a high-tempo, physical sport , so fights break out now and then.

actually these days, there arent as many fights as there used to be, coz of the instigator rule. if anyone doesnt know that rule, they can look it up. also, in the playoffs, there are almost zero fights.

but its also a stupid commnet to say you hate a sport becasue OTHER people watch it just for the fights. you should like/love a sport for yourself.

correct, in MOST of the U.S its fVcked. but not in Canada. also, greedy players are in every sport, baseball, football, basketball......

as far as coverage, yes hockey must market itself much better to get more viewers down in the southern states. also, the networks have to come up with better ideas also! instead of Fox with its glowing puck and blue lines and bad commentators, gimme a break!! what a joke to the game!!

but seriously, one of the BIGGEST problem, is listeneing to play-by-play guys. its terrible, EXCEPT for a small few like in select hockey cities. no offense to anyone, but when we watch a game up here, the play-by-play guys are right into it and exciting for the most part compared to most NOT all american networks.. some of those guys make u want to fall asleep

i think most sports players are overpaid anyways. hell, when benchwarmers are making 6 figures, thats just ridiculous.

i never really watched NHL anyway....and I relly dont think im going to pay attention after all this shit. Its embarrasing to see people act like they did in a sport you absolutely love. ill stick to my college and minor league hockey games for kicks.

thats because they dont get paid. well, they get paid in their own right, but still...they dont recieve a check unless its in the form of a scholarship.

Yeah, I get kind of upset thinking about the fact that they get to go to school for free because they're great atheletes, and that the school cashes in by exploiting that fact.....but such is the way life is, it's still a great time watching pretty much any college sporting event.

thats the reason why HALF of the american teams shouldnt even exist! they got hockey in places where people dont even know what the hell it is. the game would be a better product with less teams and teams would have a better team instead of the league being so dilluted.

I went to one Hurricanes game..the year they went to the finals. Games live are ok, but on tv, they **** ***...its pretty much a dead sport here...kinda like soccer.
