I hooked my lil 8's up to the rear speaker wires to see what they would do. They sound OK for such low wattage going to them but...

1>I was told that this is NOT good,because of the lower ohms it can burn up the radio. Is that true?

2>Unless I am playing only BASS, the highs come through the subs too. Is there any way to block out the highs.

3>Please remember, I'm just thinking of something temporary until I get my amp.

Are they RE8s??? I think those are dual-4s, so you should be ok there as long as you wire them right. However, it will still let the higher frequencies through to the subs. If your HU has built-in crossovers, you might be able to avoid this, but I would just wait until you get an amp to hook them up.

Seriously. Hook them up as 8 ohm subs.. and if you want, run em parallel to make a 4 ohm load. Stop making us louisiana folk look dumb. Decipha does a good enough job of that!

just got an email back from the guy that sold them to me...they are wired to 4ohms so should be OK hooked up to HU
