my vote for a mag too. can't go wrong. single 15" since you don't wanna run the 2500.1 @ 1ohm. nice ported box.

already had a single mag (both a 12" claw and a 15" new gen) off 1500w

so by no chance does anyone have experience with at least both the Q vs the BL?

heres a big thing that bothers me. both subs are rated @ 1k. that rating is most likely a thermal rating. for example the BL can be upped to take 1800w or so (supposedly) and the only reasons are because of a cooling option and flatwind coil...all of which are thermal upgrades.

soooo how come people that have ran both (well i only read of 1 person running both) said off the same ammout of power, the Q's were louder than the BL's in the exact same box? am i to assume that the rms rating also has to do with mechanical power handling (meaning the thermal upgrades will allow you to push the sub harder to reach the mechanical limits, while the stock one wont let you take advantage of that)?

it just seems weird to me that they would rate both at 1kw rms, but the "SQ" driver gets louder than their "street beater" sub.

I've heard all of the FI subs, but I've never owned one. As for the SS, I've owned almost all of them, and I wont run anything else, lol. SS FTMFW!!!!!!!

I'm in the same boat as you george lmao. Havent done much research on the SS but I'm really leaning towards the Q's. If theyre anything like what the Mag was as everyone is saying then I'm takin them for half the price lol. Let me know what you dig up.

why not play it safe and go with a couple mag 15's ?

Nah man... Not with the power he has. I did 2 15" Mags in my buddys explorer n it's alright but It's just not what I was expecting off of 3k rms. Good daily beater if you got the change for it but you can get louder. Idk just not my first choice from personal experience.
