HK4000D Reviews?

for the money this MA Audio amp looks to be the best i can get...my budget is $600 for a amp and i will be using a 15 BTL tuned at 35 hz?? Ive been hearing some bad things about this amp can anyone tell me the truth??

Well, what bad things have you heard?

I've been running two for a little while now, and I like them.They are prone to some noise issues, but other than that they've been reliable.

Ran both of mine at .7 daily and never had problems..............

well basically i hurd that if you dont have much of a eletrical it will die (which makes sense) but if get one and only turn it up for awhile untill i get my eletrical uprgraded it aint gonna fry is it....and you said noise issue wut u mean??

They can be a bit noisy sometimes.Seems install dependent, of course.I don't really have any issues.

The HK's have a protection circuit, to when the voltage gets low it shuts the amp off.This will save the amps basically. If not I think mine would've been gone a while ago //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

ahhh i see thats what they mean by die i though they meant when it got below 10 it died i was like WTF that really sucks but now that i hear this im defflently going to buy one!! thanks for post man

well the one i have is modded, so protection circuit was removed. Voltage dropped way to low and the amp caught fire i was trying to ajust something, so i wasn't even paying attention to the volt-meter:*******:

well as long as i can get atleast 3,600 out of it for 1 15 inch BTL that should be enough to do damage to my little cavalier lol

And cavaliers are, for lack of a better word at the moment, cheap. So in short, yeah it'll flex a lot of shit.

It'll also hurt that mofo electrically.For one HK4000D, I'd say I hope you have quite a bit of 1/0 and 2 batts. min.

lol yea they are cheap but when i get this amp im not going to turn it to full right off ima going to wait untill i do the big 3 get me a yellow top up front and one for the back and a HO altnator....would that be enough to get it good?
