Historians think George Bush Sucks

I never said it was a hard science. It is a analytical career path that society in general has chosen to be a valuable asset to have people studying though.
And my answer was correct? Gee, maybe all economists aren't too stupid for science classes, perhaps some of us just don't prefer them.
You were decently on with the answer. I am just giving you shit. It has to do with magnetic domains and their alignment versus them being random. But at the deepest level it does have to do with electron spin. Electrons spin and move creating a current surrounding an atom. All flowing current create a magnetic field following the right hand rule. If you align the currents, the magnetic fields add up to a larger field. Its awesome stuff to study.

I took a materials science class. It was fun and I got a few neat things out of it, but overall, not my cup of tea.

I took a materials science class too, almost switch from an EE to a Materials Science or Materials Engineer, whatever they call it, major.
