hissing

i get alot of hissing through my speakers. can people write down what they do to eliminate this?

do you have an external amplifier? If not, are you cranking your volume to the max? Headunits alone can't provide much power, and often have less than desirable s/n ratios, meaning more static or hiss at higher volumes.

If you ARE using an external amp, are your RCA cables of HIGH quality and ran away from power/ground wires?
