Highest input voltage

can an amp take a 17V input, i got a powersupply that can be used at 12 or 17 volts and want to know if a regular cheap amp can take 17 or go with 12.

I'd recommend against it. 12V unless the amp is built to spec to accept 17V.

its a genreic 80 watt amp i am going to use for my computer speakers, running 6X9's off of it. i will just do the 12V since this isnt mega wattage.
