High rms subs vs lower rms subs???

I have 2 Memphis mojo x 15's. They are rated at 2200 rms per sub. I also have 2 Memphis mojo 2200 watt amps. 1 per sub. Conservatively rated at 2200 rms. I Have to invest in a high output alternator and some batteries in order to power these properly. My question is, how much of a difference is it going to be to run this setup, on proper power vs going to a lower rms sub on one 2200?? Therefore putting less demand on my electrical system? I'm debating buying lower power subs, or batteries today.

To run 4400rms u should have an upgraded alt 250amp or higher and two g31 batts in the rear. And only get an alternator from a named brand company like excessive amperage, do power, singer... Lower power subs and only half the power of amp power prolly won't get as loud but it is all about the install.

The real question is how much space do you have for to get a box built for your subs?

If you dont have the electrical to power those amps then you can make a larger box to use one amp and still get loud.

Adding more power doesnt really get you super loud unless you know how to use the power and build a box right for it.

I have a c pillar wall almost installed now. It's a little over 12 cubic gross. With current port and sub displacement have a net of just over 10 cubic feet. I am probably going to a larger port, only have 88 sq inches of port area at the moment

keep the subs, they will do fine on that power and that enclosure. Just put both amps in and check your voltage drops. You can still safely run both amps as long as your monitor your voltage. If its dropping below 12.6V, lower your gains until you are above 13v

Voltage gauge went in yesterday. I also have 2 Memphis lvs 15's. I can get more out of them at a lower gain setting. They don't need as much power to get moving. I have 2/0 wire to install and have 1 automotive battery for the back. Just have to run a ground for it now. I was going to buy a second battery today. Or possible downsize power needs

In my other box, I was running the mojos. I got a 146.3 on the meter, but couldn't get anymore Due to my amps going into protect for voltage drop. Have since started building the wall. Working on power upgrades as well. So haven't ran either in the new setup yet. Still in progress

Throw it in, it should be still be louder than your weaker memphis subs.

Got the mojos in today along with both amps. Ran 2/0 wire from front to back, and added a second battery. Seemed to help my voltage tremendously. Think I will add another back battery and bigger alternator down the road. Going to have to step up my highs. Component speakers are being drowned out by the subs.
