HIGH OUTPUT HONDA ALTERNATOR – 175 AMPS
* STILL NEW * NEVER USED! $249
Original retail price of this alternator is more than $700!
Manufactured by Wrangler Northwest Power Products to much higher standards of performance than other brands that simply rewind oem units to make more amps on a test bench and do nothing else to take the extra heat and stress generated by the extra output.
Wrangler hand builds their alternators with many proprietary parts to produce a rugged dependable unit. Here's what Wrangler has on their web site about the difference between their alternators and others.
* Stator Windings that are hand wound, heavy gauge wire, with 200°C slot insulation
* Precision balanced and aligned rotor
* Copper brushes with heavy gauge wire leads
* Over-sized bearings to withstand extreme belt loads
* 50-amp button diodes on aluminum heat sinks to enhance cooling efficiency
* Grade-8 socket head bolts with Nordlock hi-torque lock-washers for mechanical stability
This alternator was originally purchased for 88-91 CRX SI with a round 4-wire plug. Wrangler says it will work on almost any 87 and up Honda or Acura as long as it has a round 4-wire electrical connection. Other vehicles with three wire plugs can also use this alternator with a $30 adapter harness that Wrangler sells directly.
Wrangler says that the pulley and bracket on this alternator will work for 90-02 Accord, 84-02 Civic & 92-01 Prelude. You can always swap out your pulley if you have a different diameter or belt width. Wrangler sells pulleys and brackets for just about everything. Also, any good auto electric shop can supply these parts.
