IMO 30 watts is only enough power for tweeters. but for me, even tweeters should have more power on tap.

No doubt. 30W is an estimate. If I wasn't trying to stay with the stock stuff I know what would be in there. Some of the comp sets have min RMS ranges of 2W-100W. You may not get that great amped output but they will still sound better than stockers. I am wondering if effeciency rating is the best thing to look at when trying to pick one?

i think 30 would be plenty for tweeters, unless you're worried of not having enough overhead and clips the shit out of it. Then I see your point

Pretty much yes, go by efficiency rating. Usually JBL stuff is around 92dB, also the Pioneer PRS720 set is only 50watts RMS. Couple to consider at least.

Several amps you can get for under $100, including Profile. Use one in the GF's car to power her Crystal comps and it sounds VERY good for the $$$.

I'm not going to tell you that more power will be better or that components will sound better because you already know that.

I think that for what you are looking for the Focal 165CVX's have a 92db efficiency and sound decent for a coax speaker.

I think you may want to consider aftermarket amplifiers. Are you trying to stay with the stock amps because of stealth reasons? Or are funds limited at this time?

I have a low mile stock to the bones 02 TA I want to keep the factory look of and not rig everything in it. I ordered something others using the stock Monsoon had good luck with... CL-6's and TW-25 tweets. I will let you know how it works out. Not a fund thing.
