What is the differnece in years?
I just got a 1600W, and its black. Arent the new ones white?

ya just a different year.i dont know what they changed in the actually amp though.

The black with chrome sides (2007) and the newer silver with black chrome sides (2008) are the same amp, just different colors to celebrate their 25 year anniversary. These are the 2 years where they do rated power at 14.4 volts. The black ones were introduced in late 2006 so if you have an 06' and it's black with chrome sides, then it does rated at 14.4 too.

I don't know why you guys don't search first. The new ones do rated power. That rumor just got squashed because Ali1 benched a Bxi2608d and it does rated. Psturmer benched his 4 Bxi2607d's and they did rated. The Titans will not do rated though. I'm not sure on the Zeus series either. Sorry, but if your 06 is not black, then it does NOT do rated.

well. shouldnt the build on each amp get more efficient?

i was lookin at specs for 2006 and it was heavier and biggertr but the newer ones had more to the guts. so that kinda says..... dadgum

new models do rated power. However the older amps (4-5 years ago) did about 10% under rated
