HIFONICS ZXI protect mode.....

problem is i have a hifonics zxi6406 4 channel amp with four guage wire runing for power and ground. and i can not seem to keep the amp out of protect mode. it goes after like 5 min of playing. as of now i have it in 2 channel mode with two eminence and 2 bullet tweeters i was wandering if there is a flaw im setup of is there something wrong with my amp... what else could cause the amp to go into protect.

oh the voltage is constant at 12-13 volts

thanks..if anybody else knows why an amp would go into protect it would be great.

they go into protect for a number of reasons. too hot, wrong ohm loads. wires touching. the list goes on and on.
