Hifonics Zeuz 3200.1 D too much for Kicker Solo-Baric L7 12's?

Thanks to the recommendations of local car audio dealers, I just recently purchased the Hifonics Zeus 3200.1D amp for a set of Kicker L7 12's (RMS -750/ 1400 watts MAX). I was originally going with the Hifonics 1800 or 2400 but both dealers suggested I go with more power...so I did. Reading reviews online, I'm starting to wonder if I made the right decision. Most people with my subs have gone with 1500 RMS - 2400 RMS amps and I have well above that. So, my question is this, is this amp too much for my subs? Should I get a smaller/weaker amp or can I just lower the gain/dB on this amp and be fine? Any input/advice is appreciated. Thanks in advance!

As long as you set your gains accordingly it does not matter how big of an amp you have, but you will not be seeing 3200 watts out of that amp anyways because that is its max power rating

Forgive me, for I am not very educated on this subject. Hence my presence here. My two L7's are 4 ohm and my amp is 1 ohm stable, so the guys at the shop said they can be paired/bridged (unsure of the correct terminology). Now, on the Hifonics website, they suggest that the amp delivers 3200 watts @ 1 ohm. Even if 3200 watts will not be what I get, what if it's say 2200 watts, will that not fry my subs?

Yes you can have those subs at 1 ohm if wired in parallel, but your amp isnt 3200watts its 1500 at most the rms rating is what matters and your amp doesnt even state it so you know its low. dont worry your subs will be fine theyll each see what theyre supposed to just set your gains carefully and there. No need to worry.

A little 101 on amps, MAX rating is an invisible number that doesnt exist the RMS is what you should look at qhen buying an amp. And most companies consumer companies (hifonics, crunch and other walmart stuff) is over rated whixh means they lie on the specs. You get what you pay for in this world and no $200 amp will give you 3200watts not even half that

[/color]Leason learned. Don't listen to dealers. Can I ask what you paid? I bet they also gave you a off the shelf way to small box also. See if you can return everything
I bought all the items offline. Factory refurbished subs in ported box for $450 with free shipping and the amp was $240 off of Amazon.

zues is bottom end of hifonics man. you are not getting close to 2000 watts on that amp. around 1600 is more like it.

Next off, before you buy anything check with the forums first. However you gotta make due with what you got now.

Invest in a digital multi-meter and google up how to set gains via digital multi-meter. Set it for 1500 watts rms and you wont burn anything.

Afterwards if you want more output, invest in a proper custom built ported box. the pre-made box is only big enough for L7 8s or 10s. a square 12 needs a lot more airspace as much as a 15" in order for it to perform properly. Forget about buying anything premade from ebay or amazon they are all garbage boxes. We got a few box builders on the forums that will get you loud and nice sounding with the gear you have.
