Hifonics Sucks

some shops will do crazy stuff for money, i can magically make an amp not work but lights come on //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crap.gif.7f4dd41e3e9b23fbd170a1ee6f65cecc.gif

they still get the install money and you buy an amp from them, either way they win //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

yep i guess thats just greedy dishonest ppl out there.

but a trusted audio shop is doing it tommorow THE WAY ITS SUPPOSED TO BE.

they made the amp work.//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/naughty.gif.94359f346c0f1259df8038d60b41863e.gif//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/eyebrow.gif.fe2c18d8720fe8c7eaed347b21ea05a5.gif

I hope this is just a little bit of lesson.

My recommendation to any one that has a brand new product installed and it doesn't work:

1. Don't go on a public forum and slam the manufacturer! We do occasionally brouse the forums.

2. Call the manufacture to get assistance (we certainly could have determined the cause and helped you get it fixed).

3. After you call the manufacture and get helped, go on a public forum and tell people the manufacture helped you get your product working correctly when some one else messed it up.

4. If you choose to go on a public forum and slam a manufacture first, and then later find out is was an installation error, go back and delete the post "Hifonics sucks" or atleast edit the first post and say it was not the amp after all.

It took us a long time to get Hifonics back on the map after API destroyed it.

We are one of the fastest growing companies in the industry and are 5 times the size of Hifonics best years.

Were known for great products at an affordable price, excellent customer service and tech support.

I'm glad your amp is working ok.

Nice to hear from a rep...

However, I was just curious why your amps are overrated? They may be reliable, but if they don't put out what they are supposed to... why should we buy them?

Thanks for answering, if you do

my bxi2006d is a pile of dogshit, i can't wait for someone to buy it.
crap unregulated power supplies FTL.
So you would rather have what? a JL 1000/1 that draws as much current as that BX2006d and has half the power output?

Unregulated power supplies are generlly more efficent and are much better for compeating because you can run them down to lower impeadances and gain power.

Go easy on the guy, he's a rookie and he just jumped to conclusions. It's an honest mistake.

Everything has it's advantages and its disadvantages.

not talking about regulated outputs, i'm talking about a regulated power supply.

two completely different things.

you're thinking of an amp that controls internal resistance to make rated power with different output resistances. i'm talking about an amp that will draw more or less amps depending on voltage to make rated power regardless of the system voltage. so even when your bass hits all of a sudden, and your voltage drops from 14.6 to 13.9, it will simply pull more amps, and still make rated power. i think they call it PWM or PMW power supply or soemthing like that... someone can correct me, i'm too lazy to look up which one it is. All you need to know, is it makes for an amp that hits a hell of a lot harder (read: night and day difference) on quick beats.

and for the record, for daily driving, i would take constistant output over higher peak output and efficiency 24/7.

unregulated power supplies may be fine for rap, or cruising around listening to tones, but for music, or any kind of a beat, once you go regulated, you'll never go back.

their amps aren't really overrated...its been tested many times. ppl rarely pay attention to the advertised voltage input and then are quick to jump to slam the company. i had my maxxsonixs born autotek benched and it put out more than rated.

I mean every thing is on my bass boost is glowing my amp is glowing but no output and my rca's for my input are connected but not the outputs.??????but when they pluged the outputs in we heard a pop//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/eyebrow.gif.fe2c18d8720fe8c7eaed347b21ea05a5.gif

and no burning smells anywhere.
okay just wentr bck to the car check the head unit controls GOOD.
took one rca out and the subs doing something but its sound weird.

took out both heard a pop when i took each one out.

i think its the rca's.

but the guy at the shop tryed it with his rca's.

BUT WHO KNOWS:eyebrow: //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crap.gif.7f4dd41e3e9b23fbd170a1ee6f65cecc.gif
if theres no burning smell then how can it not work??
i mean no channel is blown. we looked under the plate.
Think those pops you heard when you were pulling on RCA's for no reason might have something to do with the blown channel? And I thought you looked at it, and it wasnt blown?

Decent products at decent prices is more like it. Just an FYI.

I bet this shop loves you... you let them sell you an amp and install it, either ruining it in the process or just installing a bad product, and you leave there with no sound and no cash. Then, you actually return and purchase a new amp from them, before even resolving your problem, just willing to let that money go "down the drain (as you put it)" or into their pockets.

You have to be one of the stupidest people here.

Nice thread moron.

this may be a dead thread, but it caught my eye strong. "Hifonics sucks" has been the exact opposite of my experience. I have a Hifonics BX1500D, and I absolutely LOVE it. I push that thing so hard for long periods of time and it NEVER has let me down. I have nothing but the best things to say about Hifonics amps. I used to have the "circuit city" car audio with two 10" alpine subs and an eclipse amp. I then did some research on the forum and got the Hifonics amp with 2 Resonant engineering subs and i've never been happier. Blow other systems out of the park. Props to hifonics and RE, they're amazing
