the guy just told me there should only be two rcas hooked up.

One for inputs if you're only running a subwoofer. A second set of RCAs (output) is only nessesary if you have a second amplifier. When you first stated a popping sound coming from your subwoofer, I automatically thought it was the RCAs. Find someone with amplifier in the car and have them run a good set or RCAs (confirmed to be working) from their amplifier (output) into your input. If a signal is produced, then your RCAs are faulty. This is the easiest way I can think off without having to remove your headunit.

wooo i would be pissed if they were the ones who did the install and now wont do anything about it.

1.Make sure you have bass/sub output on your deck on.

2.do what ssj said.

3.go back to the shop and tell them put a new one in right.

okay just wentr bck to the car check the head unit controls GOOD.

took one rca out and the subs doing something but its sound weird.

took out both heard a pop when i took each one out.

i think its the rca's.

but the guy at the shop tryed it with his rca's.

So you left there the first time with no bass?

If they did the install go back and tell them they messed up the first time and get your money back or a new amp.

Call one of your friends over first and do the test with the rca cables tho before you go up there and raise hell.

did you check the voltage at the amp with a multimeter? you much have a voltage drop in there somewhere which isn't allowing the amp to power up.
Also, make sure the sub is wired right. when I wired my first mono amp before I knew much about car audio, I failed to notice the terminals were ++-- so I wired it to both positives, and it didn't work. I felt like a dumbass when I realized what I did wrong.
