Hi im having troubles with my amplifier the protection indicator light is coming on and i checked the subs and i cannot find any short circuits or anythign with the wiring and the amp is not over heated and the light seems to turn off if i take the rca wire out of the amp soo im a little confused any ideas or things to try would be greatly appreciated

try a new set of rca's and see if that works.. u can get a set at walmart for less than $10... just run a set from the radio over the seats back 2 the amp and plug them in... then turn the car on and see if it still lights up in protection

thats weird i use to get the same problem with a different line of amp.. not hifonics.. but it was cheap. even though the RCA would cause it to turn on when plugged in, it wasn't the RCA as far as i remember. if i recalll correctly, it was a bad ground. but i dont understand how a bad ground would do that but make sure youre ground is still good and not corroded or anything.

ill try that too but i dono its weird cuz i took it out of my car for like a day and then put it back in cuz i need the space and now this is happening

The son of Olympus has a protection circuit that detects faults such as shorted speaker wires, RCA cables or shorted voice coils.

It also has clipping protection so if your level control or bass boost is not adjusted correctly. the amp will go into protect.
